Vishakapatnam (Andhra Pradesh): A host of amenities have been provided to travellers travelling via Vishakapatnam railway station.
Can make video calls
There is an innovative device at the railway station. This is called the "Human Interactive Interface". It includes free phone and video calling. Laptops and phones can be charged here. It includes CCTV surveillance of Visakhapatnam railway station premises, weather information and other advertisements.
WIFI facility
Railways is offering free WiFi services in the premises of the railway station, at any the platform. Travellers are enjoying it so much.
Interesting selfie point
Another interesting selfie point is located near the railway bus stop. To instill the spirit of Swachhbharat in the travellers, Large Spectacles are placed which seems to look like Gandhiji's spectacles. It was designed to show as if Gandhi was walking between them, with horses on either side rising gracefully and welcoming. Behind the mirrors, there is a large national flag, a fountain next to it and an old train.
Vintage Crane
This vehicle was used in the old days to remove railway coaches and wagons lying on the tracks in case of train accidents. This is called a 'vintage crane'. It is on display near the entrance of the station on the Gnanapuram side.
Children's playground
For the first time in the history of, a children's playground was set up at a railway station. It impresses with the name 'Entertainment Zone' on Platform-1. There are a variety of toys for children to play with.
Spacious Lounge
The reserved lounge on the Visakhapatnam Railway Station Platform-1 is designed to make you feel like you are in a star hotel. Holders of Reserved Tickets can avail this service for a limited time, with a fixed fee. The fans, lights and AC are all designed to turn on and off with words and gestures. This is the first time in the state that such a lounge has been set up. Platform-8 has another lounge for regular travellers.

How did things go in the Waltair Division when the railways were first established? A small railway photo gallery signifying the importance of railways, rare railway photos of India, etc. is located near the exit from the platform-1 towards the bus stop. People with different talents can also give performances at this place.
Health check stall
A stall was set up on Platform-1 under the name 'Health on Wheels'. It will come into force soon. It is unique in the sense that 30 types of health check-ups are done here. Tests for BP, sugar, BMI, height, weight, heart rate and many more tests are done here. This vehicle has wheels which makes it easy to transport it onto other platforms. In addition, another health kiosk is being brought.
