280 kg ganja worth Rs 30 lakh seized in AP, two held

The Andhra Pradesh police seized 280 kg ganja worth 30 lakh rupees. The ganja was meant to be smuggled to Chennai. Two people were arrested in this connection.

Machilipatnam (AP): Around 280 kg ganja meant to be smuggled to Chennai from here was seized in Andhra Pradesh's Krishna district on Monday and two people were arrested in this connection, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, police personnel carried out vehicle checks at Machilipatnam Vijayawada bypass road and intercepted a vehicle carrying fish in which they found the narcotic substance valued at around Rs 30 lakh in 20 bags.

The occupants of the vehicle fled the place, police said adding investigations were on.
