Jalandhar: India celebrates Teacher's Day on September 5 every year and today everyone is paying tribute to their Guru/Teacher. World-famous WWE Wrestler The Great Khali, also known as Dalip Singh Rana, also remembered his mentor.
Khali gave the credit of his success to, Mahal Singh Bhullar, former DGP of Punjab Police, who mentored Khali throughout his life.
According to him, when he was just Dilip Singh Rana, his guru introduced him to the world and today the whole world knows him as The Great Khali.
The Great Khali is currently running an academy called WWE Continental Wrestling Entertainment in Jalandhar, where many wrestlers are learning tricks from him. He also said that the relationship between Guru and disciple is more important than the parents.
"When I came to Punjab in 1994, I got selected in the Punjab Police. My guru advised me to focus on sports. He drew my attention to sports. He is my idol and he taught me the basics of sports. He wanted me to be a shotput player and make India proud, but I believe that it was my destiny to become a wrestler. "
