Italian Football calls for Euro 2020 delay to complete Serie A season

UEFA has invited representatives of its 55 member associations to Tuesday's video conference meeting, with Euro 2020 due to take place from 12th June to 12th July at venues across Europe.

Switzerland: The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has called for the postponement of Euro 2020 to give time for the country to complete the current Serie A season, which has been suspended because of the coronavirus outbreak.

FIGC president Gabriele Gravina planned to put the idea to UEFA at an emergency meeting on Tuesday, and he had previously said that the organisation had "set a few windows in the calendar to play the matches that have been postponed."

The boards of the European Club Association and the European Leagues, and a representative of world players' union FIFPro, have also been invited and discussions will cover all domestic and European competitions, which include the possible postponement of Euro 2020 by one year.
