Intercontinental Cup to be held in Ahmedabad

AIFF had already announced on Monday that along with India, Syria, DPR Korea, and Tajikistan will participate in the tournament

Hyderabad: All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Saturday confirmed that TransStadia Arena in Ahmedabad will be the venue for the upcoming second edition Intercontinental Cup. The federation had already announced on Monday that along with India, Syria, DPR Korea, and Tajikistan will participate in the tournament.

All the four teams will be playing each other in a round robin phase, with the top two teams qualifying for the final. The inaugural edition took place in Mumbai in June last year and India is the defending champions after they trounced Kenya in the final.

Moreover, New Zealand and Chinese Taipei were the other teams who took part in the previous edition. The tournament will kickstart from July 7 and will conclude on July 18.
