Delhi football club registers cheating complaint against Liberian player

New Delhi: A football club in New Delhi has lodged a cheating complaint against a Liberian football player. The complaint has been registered with the Liberian High Commission and Delhi police.

Football club named Tarun Sangha located in Delhi has registered a cheating case against Liberian footballer Clarence Carter after he flees with more than 70 per cent of the contract amount.

General Secretary of the football club, Bivash Ch. Maity said that his club had made a contract with Carter for the Delhi Super League 2018-19.

Maity said that the football club has register formal complaint at the Liberian High Commission in New Delhi.

"Carter played only one match and flee with more than 70 per cent of the contract amount. This time we had hired players from West Bengal, Northeast, Haryana, Punjab as well as three international players from Ivory Coast and Liberia," said Maity.

The Tarun Sangha management committee has also sent a legal notice to Clarence Carter. Tarun Sangha has been participating in the Delhi Super League since 1990. They used to hire players from across India as well as some players from abroad.

Carter was earlier playing for a Mizoram based football club namely Dinthar Football Club. Before joining the Tarun Sangha football club Carter had also produced a no objection certificate from his previous football association in Mizoram.

Carter came to an agreement with Tarun Sangha football club earlier this year to play in Delhi Super League 2018-2019 for a cost of Rs 1,10,000.
