Kyiv (Ukraine): Portugal's skipper Cristiano Ronaldo on Monday scripted history by becoming only the sixth footballer to register 700 goals.
Ronaldo achieved this feat in his side's 1-2 defeat at the hands of Ukraine in the Euro 2020 qualifying match.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner converted a penalty in the 72nd minute of the match to score his 700th goal.
Only German striker Gerd Muller, Hungary legend Ferenc Puskas, Brazil's Pele and Romario and Czech Republic's Josef Bican have scored 700 goals in their career previously than Cristiano.
Argentina's Lionel Messi is the only other active player who can go beyond the 700 goal mark as the Argentine currently has 672 goals in his tally.
