Hyderabad: Sara Tendulkar, the daughter of cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar slammed netizens by sharing an Instagram story after becoming a talking point on social media due to wrong reasons on Wednesday.
Sara Tendulkar took to Instagram and wrote, "Social media is a wonderful space for all of us to share our joys, sorrows, and daily activities. However, it is disconcerting to see the misuse of technology as it takes away from the truth and authenticity of the internet. I have come across some deepfake photos of me which are far from reality."
"A few accounts on X (formerly Twitter) have obviously been created with the intent to impersonate me and mislead people. I do not have an account on X, and I hope X looks into such accounts and suspends them," she added while urging X to take action.
In conclusion, Sara said," Entertainment should never come at the expense of the truth. Let's encourage communication that’s based on trust and reality."
Sara's Instagram story has spread like wildfire on social media platforms. Initially, she deleted her Instagram story but, later posted it again, with some changes in it. Earlier, Indian-origin Vini Raman, wife of Australia star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell inferred in her latest Instagram post that she was receiving online hate for cheering up for Australia and not for the country her parents were from after India's shocking defeat in the World Cup final in Ahmedabad on Sunday last.
Sachin Tendulkar, one of the greatest batters of the game, is a recipient of the Bharat Ratna award, the country's highest civilian honour. He has numerous records to his name.
