Jaipur: Kolkata Knight Riders' Australia opener Chris Lynn and West Indies all-rounder Sunil Narine guided KKR to a comfortable win over Ajinkya Rahane-led Rajasthan Royals to script their fourth victory on Sunday at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
With this win over Rajasthan, KKR has also become the table toppers from eight points off five games.
Lynn and Narine put up a 91-run partnership for the first wicket as they smashed Rajasthan bowlers all over the park. The duo also scored 65 runs in the powerplay, which saw rain of sixes. Chasing the modest target of 140, Kolkata won the match in 13.5 overs with eight wickets in hand.
Here are the milestones of the match:
1- Rajasthan scored just 28 runs during the powerplay, which is their lowest score against KKR during a powerplay in the cash-rich league.
2- KKR scored 65 runs in powerplay without losing a single wicket. It is also their highest Powerplay score against Rajasthan Royals in the IPL.
3- KKR's win over RR is also their joint second win in IPL in terms of balls remained. Kolkata has achieved the same feat against Rajasthan in 2011.
4- Former Aussie skipper Steve Smith and England's Jos Buttler put up the fifth-highest second wicket partnership of this season. Smith and Buttler stitched a 72-run partnership against KKR on Sunday.
