It is worth noting that recently Pakistan veteran bowler Wasim Akram said that if the bowlers do not put saliva on the ball, then they will become robots. To this, Sreesanth said, "All I will say is thank God that he took retirement before Coronavirus. I don’t know how will one play if one’s thinking is like this. Maybe people would say something like this while commentating or during live sessions to make news, but I will not say so."

His view on ICC’s ban on use of saliva to shine balls

37-year-old Sreesanth said, "I would say that the saliva ban will not impact cricket. I don't think, because if you have to bowl a yorker it is not something like one can only ball a yorker by reverse swing and not by normal swing. One can also maintain the ball with sweat. Presenly, We are going through the situation between life and death and all one has to discuss is the ban on saliva.”

Adding further, Sreesanth said “Anyways, currently bowlers are being hit all round the park. I don’t think they will be hit more without the use of saliva. I think any bowler who would back himself and bowl in good areas will definitely get a wicket and nobody will become robot.
