Dhaka: Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) team Chattogram Challengers have taken a unique initiative to help raise funds to combat the novel coronavirus which has grown into a global pandemic.
The side in association with Spreeha Bangladesh Foundation (SBF), are pioneering to raise funds and make a difference.
For raising funds, the Challengers have decided to auction a team bat that would be signed by all the team’s players. The team boasts of a bunch of star players like Mahmudullah, Chris Gayle, Kesrick Williams, Lendl Simmons, Imad Wasim, Liam Plunkett, Coach Paul Nixon and many others.
Those who donate to this foundation will get the opportunity to own the bat with the signature of the player of Chattogram Challengers. The bat will be given to the person who will donate the most to the fund within 10 days.
The team representing Chattogram has been campaigning online for the past one month to create awareness about the disaster caused by coronavirus. This time, the Challengers are focusing on ensuring the health care of the disadvantaged people.
According to the Chattogram Challengers authorities, the players of the team will sign a bat which will be auctioned. The entire proceeds from the auction will be used in the healthcare sector to combat coronavirus. The Spreeha Foundation will raise funds on a web platform. The foundation wants to raise at least Rs 6 lakh from the health care campaign fund.
As per other reports, Syed Yasir Alam – CEO of Chattogram Challengers – confirmed that the team is brainstorming on new ways to contribute to bring smiles and hope to people in times of these crisis.
