Manchester: Afghanistan captain Gulbadin Naib threatened to walk out of his post-match press conference after their World Cup defeat to England on Tuesday after he disliked a line of questioning about an incident in a restaurant.
Naib said, "No, no, I didn't know anything about it, so it's not a big issue for the team, for me. So even I didn't know anything about them. So we have a manager and also we have a security officer so you can ask them. So we didn't know about anything."
Reports emerged on Tuesday that some members of the squad were involved in an altercation in the Manchester restaurant after allegedly taking exception to be filmed by a member of the public.
Greater Manchester Police said officers went to the restaurant - no arrests were made and investigations are continuing.
Naib said in his press conference after his side's 150-run defeat that he wasn't at the scene of the alleged incident and directed all questions to the squad's security officer.
When questioning persisted about the incident, Naib threatened to walk out of the conference.
"You can ask here, only with me, not the security officer. You can talk to other sides. So if anyone asks these kinds of questions, I will go. I will go, yeah," Nabi added.
