Burbank, California: Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins says she's been researching Rogue Squadron video games and books and wants to "blend the best of everything" into her Star Wars movie. She was announced as the director of the film late last year but it's early in the production process.

"I think the Michael Stackpole books and the and the video game and all of the Rogue Squadron books, I think they all have -- there's an incredible history that it's really important to honor," she said. "And and yet it must be brought to a new age because we have to tell a new story with it. And so you're kind of you're trying to blend the best of everything and make it the great fighter pilot movie, which I've always wanted to make as well. And so, yeah, you're just -- it's a big brew of things that you're trying to put together and still keep a very simple story."

Jenkins says that like when she first tackled Wonder Woman, she is feeling "a huge amount of pressure. ... "It's not it's not a totally new feeling to me, but yeah, definitely nerve-wracking."

She has two other projects lined up after Rogue Squadron: a third Wonder Woman movie and Cleopatra, set to feature her Wonder Woman star, Gal Gadot.

"I keep joking that always in my career there was one thing I really wanted to do and other things that I could do, and I was always going to favor the thing I wanted to do," she said. "The strangest thing about where I am now is they all feel desperately meant to be like something that I'm just desperate to do and feel very right for me and like meant to be something that I get to do one day. And so it's funny. It's a funny thing. I'm in love with all three projects on my plate right now. I'm definitely doing 'Rogue Squadron' next and I'm excited to do 'Wonder Woman 3'. And so, you know, these are all and 'Cleopatra' is coming along great as well. And so we'll see how it works out. But, you know, I may just never stop. I may just make movies back-to-back. If they would let me, I would love it."

Jenkins spoke at the reopening of the Warner Bros Studio Tour, which features costumes and props from her movie and others in the DC Comics "cinematic universe."
