Washington: Netflix released the full-length trailer for season 3 of The Crown, giving fans their first real look at a new set of actors playing the British royal family.

The trailer opens in 1977 with Queen Elizabeth II (Olivia Colman) marking her Silver Jubilee, or the 25th anniversary of her ascension to the throne. But this older queen is more introspective than the one played by Claire Foy in the first two seasons.
“On days like today, ask yourself: In the time I’ve been on the throne, what have I actually achieved?” she says.

And the monarch wonders of her part in it all. "This country was still great when I came to the throne," she laments. "All that’s happened on my watch is the place has fallen apart."

The Oscar-winning actor Olivia Colman takes over the lead role from Claire Foy and can be seen in the new trailer below entering the swinging sixties against the backdrop of protestors and a cover of Bob Dylan’s classic "The Times They Are A-Changin".

In interviews, Colman has talked about the third season. "There’s one episode where they tell the story of Aberfan –which, shamefully, I didn’t know – and it was so awful, tragic and harrowing, and I really struggled with it,” she said in an interview. “So they gave me an earpiece and put on the Shipping Forecast and I just listened to that and pretended that was all that was going on."
Her younger sister Princess Margaret is played by Helena Bonham-Carter and Josh O'Connor is seen as her son, Prince Charles.

Fans can catch the first glimpse of Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip and Josh O’Connor as a grown-up Prince Charles.

The third season of The Crown hits Netflix November 17.
