Hyderabad: Bollywood actor-turned-author Twinkle Khanna's acting career was short-lived. In those few years, however, she had experiences of a lifetime. The daughter of yesteryear superstar Rajesh Khanna and actor Dimple Kapadia recalled a 'horrible' experience that she had to go through in the initial days of her career.
While speaking to the veteran actor Waheeda Rehman for an interactive session on her digital platform Tweak India, Twinkle said that a director once asked her if she will be willing to pull off a rain sequence on the lines of what Mandakini enacted in 1985 released Ram Teri Ganga Maili.
"I was wearing a white kurta, and ready for the quintessential rain song, and the director comes with a shawl wrapped around, imitating Guru Dutt. And he says, 'If I tell you to do a Mandakini, what will you say?' I said I will say two things. First, I will say 'No', and secondly, 'You're not Raj Kapoor'," she said.

The 47-year-old further said that after the incident the filmmaker never spoke to her and nor did he cast her in any of her films. "It was horrible," said Twinkle who entered the filmdom with Rajkumar Santoshi's Barsaat which also marked the debut of Bobby Deol.
Khanna is keeping away from acting for two decades now but her association with films continues as she turned producer with the 2010 released Tees Maar Khan. Out of eight films that she has bankrolled so far, six stars her superstar husband Akshay Kumar in the lead.
