Hyderabad: Bollywood star Taapsee Pannu had earlier revealed that she was the last choice for Haseen Dillruba as makers came to her when all the options dried up. Now, Haseen Dillruba director Vinil Mathew has shared that they resorted to Taapsee for her 'murderer' like looks.
As Haseen Duillruba is nearing its release, the team is busy promoting the film on various platforms. During one such virtual interview, Vinil was asked about how he found the right cast that fits in as if the roles were tailor-made for them. Before Vinil answers, Taapsee chimes in and asks him to reveal the truth behind her casting.
Sharing what went behind Taapsee's casting, Vinil jokingly said, "First time ever I'm actually revealing the truth. Basically what happened is, we went through all the photographs of all the top heroines in the country and Taapsee is the only one who looks like khooni (murderer). So, we thought Taapsee is correct for the role as we will not have to work much on her as she looks capable of murdering someone."

Taking her revenge, Taapsee also brought up an old story of being rejected by Vinil for an advert. Pulling up Vinil in a jest, Taapsee asked him, "Why did you reject me in your ad you tell me that? He rejected me for an ad." Revealing the funny story, Taapse further said that she used to remind Vinil from the first meeting that since he rejected her it is his karma that he will have to put up with her throughout making the film.

Taapsee plays the lead in Vinil Mathew's Haseen Dillruba, a crime drama that also features Vikrant Massey and Harshvardhan Rane. The film drops digitally on July 2.
