Twitter account of Sushant Singh Rajput's father fake, confirms family source

Reports of Sushant Singh Rajput's father K K Singh demanding CBI probe into actor's death based on a tweet hogged the headlines on Saturday. Following the reports, a source close to the family has revealed that Rajput's father is not on Twitter and the account that ignited speculations is fake.

Patna: Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput's father K K Singh is not on Twitter, a source close to the family said on Saturday in response to the media reports claiming that he has demanded Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the actor's death in a post on the social media platform.

Rajput, 34, best known for films like Kai Po Che!, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story and Chhichhore, died on June 14 at his Bandra residence.

He (Singh) has outrightly denied the existence of any such account and urged those behind such things to not create confusion in public, the family source told PTI.

The source added that the family has released no statement related to Rajput after June 27, in which they announced initiatives to support aspiring talent in the field of cinema, sports and science.

The family has also not given any media interviews or shared posts on social media.

As per the reports, Singh posted on Twitter that his actor son's death is a murder and some people are trying to project it as a suicide.

Rajput's postmortem report states his death was a "clear case of suicide", however, fans do not seem convinced. They are also requesting a CBI probe into the actor's death.

Meanwhile, the late actor's brother-in-law Vishal Kirti has announced Nepometer, an app deviced to gauge how "nepotostic" a film is. The first film rated on Thursday on the Nepometer is Mahesh Bhatt's upcoming Sadak 2, starring Alia Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt in the cast, and produced by their uncle Mukesh Bhatt.The Nepometer rates a film based on 5 categories, producer, lead artists, supporting artists, director and writer. Based on which, Mahesh Bhatt's comeback film is 98 per cent nepotistic.

Rajput's last film Dil Bechara will release on streaming platform Disney + Hotstar on July 24.
