Mumbai: Hours after a clean chit given to veteran actor Nana Patekar on Thursday over the sexual harassment charges, an enraged Tanushree Dutta said the whole system is as corrupt as Nana.
She went to the extent saying that the witness in the case had been 'intimidated and bullied'.
Nana was exonerated by the police against sexual harassment lodged by the former actor Tanushree.
Tanushree's lawyer Nitin Satpute said that soon he would file a writ petition and challenge the report in the Bombay High Court. "We have not received any official information from the Oshiwara police station about the classification of offense (Summary Report) on behalf of Tanushree Dutta,” he said.
The lawyer went on to add: “If the police have filed any B or C classification of Summary Report, that cannot be final; we can oppose it in court. After the hearing, if the court makes a decision, then again the case can be directed to the police to continue the investigation."
Satpute alleged that the police acted negligently to protect Nana Patekar. “Many witnesses have not yet recorded their statement,” he said, adding, “Shyni Shetty's statement was recorded partly. The police have not investigated properly, so we are opposing summary reports and we are also going to file a writ petition before Bombay High Court. We will also demand that the investigation be transferred to another agency or CID, Crime Branch.”
Tanushree's allegations against Nana Patekar sparked off the #MeToo movement in India.
