Mumbai: Actor Rhea Chakraborty, who happens to be a prime accused in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case, has been summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation to appear before its probe team on Friday around 10.30 am in order to get a better picture in the "alleged suicide" case.

On Friday morning, the 28-year-old actor reached DRDO guest house where a team of the investigating agency is residing. This is the first time that Rhea is being questioned by the CBI in the Sushant's case.

She left her residence around 10 am to reach the DRDO guest house in suburban Santacruz, said an official.

Earlier, the CBI had summoned two Mumbai Police officers. The investigating officer and a sub-inspector from Bandra Police Station were asked to bring necessary documents linked to the case of the deceased star.

The top priority of the federal investigative agency was to crack down the digital footprints of Rhea and her associates. Since the incident had happened in June, the central agencies feared that all efforts must have been made by the suspects to wipe out any evidence.

The Special Investigating Team of CBI has been camping in Mumbai for over a week now after the Supreme Court has ordered the federal probe agency to take over the case.

In a series of events, the SIT on Monday questioned the doctors of Cooper Hospital, who performed Sushant's post-mortem examination, regarding why there was no mention of the time of death in his autopsy report.

Meanwhile, the CBI contacted the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to seek medico-legal opinion on the autopsy report of the late actor.

Sudhir Gupta, head of forensic science department at AIIMS Delhi, told: "The CBI has contacted us and they wanted a competent medical board to examine the postmortem report, the crime scene and give an opinion along with the request to visit Mumbai to cross verify the facts."
