Mumbai: Actress Sonakshi Sinha on Sunday has hailed the spacewomen of 'Chandrayaan-2' for leading the incredible mission.

Ahead of India's most ambitious space mission, the actress took to her social media to applaud the women scientist involved in the crucial mission.

The 32-year-old actress wrote on Twitter: "One of India's most important and prestigious space missions, #Chandrayaan2, is led by women, which also happens to be a first for @isro! Proud of our spacewomen. To the moon!!! #GirlPower #ISRO #MissionMangal"

The countdown has begun for the launch of Chandrayaan-2, India's Moon mission to the unexplored south polar region of Earth's natural satellite.

The country's second lunar spacecraft will be launched onboard. A Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) Mk-III from Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh will be launched at 2:51 am on Monday.

Meanwhile, the actress is all set with her upcoming film 'Mission Mangal' which hit the theatres on August 15, 2019.

The film based on true events of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launching the Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan) on 5 November 2013, making it the least expensive mission to Mars.

Besides Sonakshi Sinha, the film also stars Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sharman Joshi, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari and HR Dattatrey in pivotal roles.
