Mumbai: Shahid Kapoor whose latest release Kabir Singh raked nearly Rs 300 cr at the box office has reportedly walked out of an award show after being denied the Best Actor award.
Delivering one of his career's best performances in the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial, the actor was expecting a memento of recognition at the Star Screen Awards.
But in a sudden twist of events, the organisers snub the actor in a shady way and gave away the recognition to the Gully Boy actor Ranveer Singh.
Shahid Kapoor who was guaranteed the Best Actor award for his stellar performance in Kabir Singh was supposed to perform at the award show night.
The unexpected last-minute changes reportedly made Shahid disappointed and he made way out of the show without performing.
On the red carpet of the award ceremony, Shahid announced that he is "looking forward to a great night" as he is set to perform and host the show simultaneously.

A source close to the Jab We Met actor revealed: "Shahid apparently lost his cool on the organisers because it was an unprofessional move on their part to sneakily change the whole scenario."
"He was reportedly very upset with how the whole thing was addressed. The award was then presented to Ranveer Singh and Shahid then supposedly walked out of the show. He was to perform but he decided not to record his performance as well," added the source.
Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor will next be seen in Jersey, which is a Hindi remake of the Telugu hit that goes by the same name.
Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, the shooting for the film is set to start this December.
