Saif Ali Khan to clash swords with 'mighty' Prabhas in Adipurush

Saif Ali Khan has bagged the role of a menacing villain in Prabhas' upcoming big-ticket film Adipurush. The actor will be reuniting with his Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior helmer Om Raut who will be at the helm of Adipurush.

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has been roped in to play a powerful antagonist who will be locking horns with Baahubali fame Prabhas in Om Raut's mega-budget film Adipurush.

The makers today announced Saif joining the cast as an "intelligent demon." Khan will be playing menacing villain in the film which is currently in pre-production stage. The film is an on-screen adaptation of an Indian epic, revolves around the triumph of good over evil.

Talking about his reunion with Om, the 50-year-old actor told a leading daily that he is "thrilled" to be working with the Tanhaji director yet again.

"He has a grand vision and the technical knowledge to pull it off. I’m thrilled to be a part of this project. I look forward to clashing swords with the mighty Prabhas and to play a role that is electrifying and demonic,” said Saif.

On the announcement of Adipurush, Prabhas had earlier said that "every character comes with its own challenges, but portraying a character like this comes with tremendous responsibility and pride. I am very excited to portray this character of our epic, especially the way Om has designed it. I am sure the youth of our country will shower all their love on our film."

The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar and Rajesh Nair. Adipurush is expected to go on floors in 2021.
