Mumbai: Actor Payal Ghosh who dragged names of Richa Chadha and other actors while accusing filmmaker Anurag Kashyap of sexual misconduct, is now willing to apologise to Richa, but on a certain condition.
Payal's lawyer Nitin Satpute told the Bombay High Court justice, "After the last hearing, Ms. Chadha made certain statements to the media saying she has won the case. That resulted in Ms. Ghosh being trolled on social media. But she would like to settle the matter."
Satpute added, "After settling this matter, the plaintiff (Richa) should not file any criminal case against Payal."
To finalize the consent terms, Satpute will get in touch with Richa's lawyer. Payal's decision to apologise to Richa has come after Richa filed a case before Bombay High Court for Rs 1.10 crore against her for "tarnishing her reputation."
Reacting to the defamation suit filed by Richa, Payal had earlier told a newswire, "This is completely a false accusation. I don't understand what I have to do with this case. Why is she trying to defame me? She should instead ask Mr Kashyap why he took her name."

"I don't know her personally. We will go to court and clarify. I have only said what Mr Kashyap told me. It is not me who has taken names," she had said earlier this month.
Last month, Payal had claimed that Kashyap tried to molest her in the past. She said in order to convince her, Anurag said that "all the actresses he has worked with are just a call away" -- indicating that these actors, including Richa, have provided sexual favours to Kashyap.
Payal also took to her Twitter page and said that she won't be apologising to anyone. Payal's tweet read, "I am not apologizing to anyone. I have not wronged nor have I given a wrong statement about anyone. I just said what @anuragkashyap told me #SorryNotSorry'.'
The actor, however, has changed her stance and now is willing to render an apology to Richa.
