Mumbai: Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui who shared screen space with some of the brilliant actors in India including Sridevi and Irrfan Khan was recently put in a harrowing situation when an anchor of a show poked fun at the death of the two Bollywood legends.

The Pakistani actor claimed that the show titled Jeeway Pakistan which he attended as a guest was hosted by Aamir Liaquat. During the course, Liaquat made some "callous" comments regarding two of his Indian co-stars which made him uncomfortable.

Disturbed by the entire incident, Adnan offered an apology to both Sridevi and Irrfan Khan's families.

Taking to Instagram, he spoke about the incident and said: "So I don't know how to explain what I'm feeling right now or what to say. But this needs to go out - I was invited on the live chat show Jeewey Pakistan yesterday when this unfortunate incident happened."

"The anchor Aamir Liaquat Sahab joked about something extremely sensitive. Not only were they both close to me but also as a human it was wrong on so many levels. I cannot even call it hitting below the belt," read his post.

"It was an extremely callous act to joke about the deceased. This is in very bad taste, not only does it show him and me but also the entire country in bad light," Siddiqui said.

He further wrote: "I want to apologise to the families of Sridevi Sahiba and Irrfan Khan Sahab, their loved ones and fans. If you see my body language I was extremely uncomfortable with what he said but I didn't want to stop to that level."

The Pakistani artist regretted being on such a show. He concluded saying: "I regret being on the show. I've learnt my lesson and I promise I will not tolerate such an act in future. I was hoping this bit wouldn't become public but unfortunately it has. I'm sorry."

According to a news portal, anchor Liaquat stated that the Bollywood stunners Rani Mukerji and Bipasha Basu are still doing well because Adnan didn't sign any film with them.

The 50-year-old actor appeared alongside Sridevi and Irrfan Khan in MOM and A Mighty Heart and, hence, both the actors are no more, the news portal quoted Liaquat as saying.
