Hyderabad: Maharashtra government imposed tighter lockdown as the state battles tsunami-like COVID-19 second wave. Soon after CM Uddhav Thackeray announced a strict 'Janta Curfew' in the state till 7 am on May 1, many celebrities flew out to unwind at exotic locations and later got trolled for posting pictures of luxurious holiday on social media.

In normal circumstances, celebrities garner love of their fans and followers when they share pictures from exotic holidays. But, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said, the second wave of COVID-19 infections is testing Indians' "patience and capacity to bear pain", netizens too are apparently not in a mood to scroll through pictures flaunting privileged life while the nation is grappling with the pandemic.

On Sunday, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt returned to Mumbai after the Maldives holiday and so did rumoured couple Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani. The actors were severely trolled soon after their pictures and videos landed on social media. Few even suggested that Alia and Ranbir should donate plasma as they both have recovered from COVID.

While Disha had posted several pictures and videos on Instagram Stories, Alia stayed off the social media as she spent some quality time with RK. Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Pooja Bedi are among the celebrities who recently received flack for sharing holiday pictures on social media.
