Mumbai: Filmmaker Mohit Suri's Malang had a much bigger opening weekend at the Indian box office than director Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Shikara. While Malang collected Rs 25.36 crore in its first three days, Shikara managed only Rs 4.95 crore.

The romantic action thriller Malang stars Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Disha Patani and Kunal Kemmu in key roles.

Shikara, which introduces Aadil Khan and Sadia in central roles, also features real-life survivors of the mass exodus as the supporting cast.

In a separate tweet, Adarsh had earlier mentioned that Shikara's show business gathered momentum in the post noon shows on the first day of its release.
On the other hand, Malang has become Aditya Roy Kapur's biggest opener till date. (
