Kangana hones dance skills for Thalaivi at Manali residence

Kangana Ranaut is leaving no stone unturned to get into the skin of screen icon-turned-politician J. Jayalalithaa. The actor is working on her dancing skills for the biopic which is titled Thalaivi in Tamil and Jaya in Hindi.

Manali: Actor Kangana Ranaut has literally turned her house in Manali into a dance studio! She is diligently preparing for her role of late late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa in the upcoming film Thalaivi, and dance is a significant aspect of the character.

In a video posted by her team on Instagram, Kangana is seen rehearsing with a choreographer.

"The queen never rests. Rehearsals are in full swing for #thalaivi in Manali. Cannot wait for this epic saga," read the video's caption.

In September this year, Kangana underwent prosthetic measurements for the role in the US. Hollywood-based prosthetics expert Jason Collins, renowned for films such as Captain Marvel and Blade Runner 2049, is working on Kangana's look for Jayalalithaa biopic.

The film is titled Thalaivi in Tamil and Jaya in Hindi, and will be directed by AL Vijay, one of the leading filmmakers down South who has earlier directed landmark films such as Madrasapattinam and Deiva Thirumagal.

Written by K.V. Vijayendra Prasad of Baahubali fame, the film will be produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shaailesh R. Singh under the banner of Vibri and Karma Media and Entertainment.

This year, Kangana has been seen on the big screen in Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi and Judgementall Hai Kya this year.

In Bollywood, she will next be seen in Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's kabaddi film, Panga coming up in 2020, followed by the action thriller Dhaakad.
