Mumbai: National award-winning director Aijaz Khan has recently expressed his grief over being unable to share the film's winning moment with the child actor Talha Arshad Reshi.

Owing to the lack of communication, the 'Hamid' director said: "I have been trying to reach Talha, the little boy who played Hamid but I just can't get through to him or his father's phone number."

Talha who won the 'Best Child Artist' award hailed from Kashmir.

Portraying an eight-year-old boy, his performance in the film has amused audience.

Set against the backdrop of Kashmir's terror, the film has bagged two national awards.

'Hamid' tried to explore an unusual bond between the eight-year-old boy and a CRPF trooper. It also depicted the child's journey of finding redemption.

The film has entirely been shot in Kashmir.

Speaking about the film's win amid government's decision to scrap Article 370, Aijaz Khan said: "I am thrilled. Given the current scenario, I don't want to get into the political side of things, but I am thrilled that my film won an award. It is great and brilliant."

Dedicating the win to his parents, the filmmaker further said that his hard work has paid off well. "Even if the film didn't win the award, working on 'Hamid' opened up a new side of Kashmir before me. Being there has opened my eyes," he said.
