Mumbai: As today marked the 77th birthday of the legendary actor Amitabh Bachhan, his die-hard fans thronged outside his residence to catch a glimpse of him.
Gathering on the streets they conveyed best wishes for their favourite star and prayed for his long life.
Starstruck fans from various cities queued up since early morning, waiting to wish the star in their unique way.
One of his fans Dilip came from Sangli Village to wish the actor and presented a song De De Pyaar De from one of the actor's remarkable film Sharabi. The excited fan even enacted his famous dialogue 'Rishte mein toh hum tumhare...' from the 1988 superhit movie Shahenshah.
Another fan, Pandit Ram Ashok Tiwari, offered prayers to the star and chanted a prayer for his long life.
"It's been 20 years that I have been coming to his residence on his birthday. I perform hawan and offer prayers for his long life and to protect him from any evil," said Tiwari.
While a section of fans was spotted celebrating the special day by dancing to the tracks from Big B's films, others brought beautiful paintings for the 77-year-old actor along with a bouquet as a token of love.

Meanwhile, another fan dressed up as the superstar himself. Celebrating the day, he was seen clicking selfies with other fans outside the actor's residence.
Fans who came along with their families were also seen raising slogans for Amitabh Bachchan and praising him for his achievements and contributions to the Indian cinema.
Going out of the way to gift something unique to Amitabh, one of his fans wore a shirt and cap that had names of all the films done by the Kaun Banega Crorepati star.
Amitabh Bachchan Fan Association founded by S P Kamat in 1979 also extended best wishes to the actor.
