Mumbai: Deepika Padukone unveiled her look from hotly anticipated of the year, 83. In the film headlined by Ranveer Singh, Deepika will be seen portraying Kapil Dev's wife Romi Dev.
In Kabir Khan's 83, Deepika's husband, Ranveer plays the role of Kapil Dev, is known. Ever since the makers started revealing the character posters of the huge starcast, Deepika's look from the film was highly awaited. Finally, the wait is over as the actor shared a glimpse of her character with a warm note.
"To be able to play a small part in a film that captures one of the most iconic moments in sporting history has been an absolute honour," wrote Deepika alongside the image.
"I've seen very closely the role a wife plays in the success of her husband’s professional and personal aspirations in my mother and 83 for me in many ways is an ode to every woman who puts her husband’s dream before her own," she concluded.

83 tells the story of India's first ever victory at the cricket World Cup in 1983. An underdog team back then, Kapil's team beat the mighty West Indies in the final.
This is the fourth time Ranveer and Deepika have been teamed on screen after Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela (2013), Bajirao Mastani (2015) and Padmaavat (2018). Incidentally, Ranveer did a cameo role in the 2014 film Finding Fanny, starring Deepika.
Apart from Ranveer and Deepika, the film also features Tahi Raj Bhasin, Pankaj Tripathi, Boman Irani, Saqib Saleem, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk and Chirag Patil.
The film is scheduled to release on April 10, 2020.
