Mumbai: Despite several obstructions prior to its release, 'Article 15' has garnered Rs 5.02 crore at the box office. The movie has received appreciations widely on the first of its release.
Expressing gratitude to the audience for embracing the film, director Anubhav Sinha wrote on Twitter: "Here is sending my love to the audience worldwide. You are so underrated. #Article15"
The film starring Ayushmann Khurrana in the role of a police officer has gained positive response at large.
Addressing the harsh truth, the film is a mirror to society.

Sharing the same, film critique Taran Adarsh tweeted: "'Article 15' has a decent Day 1... Gathered speed towards evening shows, after a dull start in the morning. Should witness an upward trend/substantial growth on Day 2... Metros are driving the business and high-end multiplexes will contribute largely."
The film, on Friday, was released over 1600 screens.
