Daler Mehendi donates gold 'Chaur Sahib'

The singer and his family paid a visit to a Gurudwara in Delhi to offer a donation for Guru Nanak's birthplace in Pakistan.

Mumbai: After his recent visit to Gurdwara Rakab Ganj sahib Delhi, the popular singer and songwriter Daler Mehendi donated a gold 'Chaur Sahib' for Gurdwara Nankana Sahib situated in Pakistan.

The 'Chaur Sahib' was presented by Mehendi and his family to Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) chief Manjinder Sirsa.

Upon receiving 'Chaur Sahib', Manjinder extended his gratitude to the singer and his family for their generous donation.

'Chaur Sahib' is an important part of palki where Guru Sahib is installed.

To mark the occasion of Guru Nanak's 550th birth anniversary, DSGMC and SGPC (Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee) will be organising an International Nagar Kirtan in November.

As Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born in Nankana Sahib of Pakistan, the International Nagar Kirtan will be conducted from India to Pakistan in a gold palki during the Guru Nanak Gurpurab.

The 'Chaur Sahib' is said to be a part of the International Nagar Kirtan.
