Big B recalls his hurried marriage with Jaya on 46 anniv. Abishek sends love

One of the most adorable real-life couples of Bollywood, Big B and Jaya celebrate 46 years of togetherness today. The Sr Bachchan took to social media to share the lesser-known story of his "next day" marriage with Jaya. As they are nearing to complete half century of togetherness, their son Abhishek Bachchan also send out love to the couple by sharing a happy picture of his parents on social media.

New Delhi: As Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan celebrate 46 years of marital bliss today; Abhishek Bachchan wished them a happy anniversary.

Mr Bachchan met Jaya on the sets of 1971 film 'Guddi' and got married almost a month after 'Zanjeer' released in May 1973.

The 76-year-old recalled on social media how he hurried to marry Jaya so that his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan will allow the yet-to-be-married couple to jet off to London to celebrate the success of 'Zanjeer'.

In the blog post, the 'Piku' star also added that the two families prepped for the "next day" wedding in full swing as the ceremony had to be completed before their flight to London on the night of the wedding day itself.

Amitabh and Jaya have worked together in scores of movies including 'Guddi', 'Ek Nazar', 'Bawarchi', 'Sholay', 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham', 'Abhimaan', 'Chupke Chupke' among others.

Wishing his parents on Instagram, Abhishek shared a happy picture of the couple. He captioned the picture as "Happy Anniversary to the parentals! Love you both eternally. #46andcounting"

In the photo, Amitabh can be seen wearing a black jacket over white kurta while Jaya looks elegant in a pale yellow traditional outfit.

Amitabh will next be seen in 'Chehre' and Ayan Mukerji's 'Brahmastra'. He is also set to make his Tamil debut with a bilingual film 'Uyarndha Manithan' titled 'Tera Yaar Hoon Main' in Hindi.
