Mumbai: After Article 370 was modified, which allowed special status to Jammu and Kashmir, actor Anupam Kher termed that "Article 370 was Cancer."
Applauding the changes made to the provision by the central government, the actor said that it is a remarkable moment in the history of India.
Taking a strong stand for the move, the veteran actor said: "Today marks a remarkable day in the history of our great nation India. The most damaging Article 370 has been abolished by the Modi government from Jammu and Kashmir."
He said that being a Kashmiri himself, it is "an emotionally powerful moment to witness." He further added: "History unfold before my own eyes. I'm in fact moved out of sheer happiness."

Speaking about the move he stated: "Article 370 was cancer that was harming J&K for last several decades. I am glad, we have finally found a cure & we now can march towards development & peace in Jammu and Kashmir."
The 64-year-old actor further thanked PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for such a bold move in the national interest.
He also wished that the best industrialist invest in Kashmir and make it an incredible destination for humanity, peace, and prosperity.
On a concluding note, he gave out a message to the inhabitants of J&K, saying "I also want to tell all the fellow Kashmiris that we are all equal Indians. There should be no divide or hatred or violence. We have to live together, hand in hand in Bharat and we will as proud Indians. Jai Hind"
Being a Kashmiri Pandit himself, Kher had earlier expressed strong views about the genocide of Kashmiri pandits in 1990.
