Kolkata: Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap said that the prevailing situation in India is very polarizing and has created a fear among the public. He feels that people should use their conscience and stand up for the right.
Talking about the present scenario of India, Anurag said, "Yes, it is unfortunate. It's very polarizing, there is lot of fear in the atmosphere and that's exactly what worries everyone."
"I just think that people should listen to their own conscience, decide for yourself and stand up for what is right. In today's date decent is very important," added Anurag.
Earlier, he slammed the Narendra Modi government calling it egoistic and "illiterate".
The acclaimed filmmaker severely criticised the government over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019, which was passed by Parliament on December 11.
In a tweet he wrote in Hindi: "The CAA/CAB is not going anywhere. It is impossible for them to take it back because, for them, that would mean defeat. This government views everything in terms of victory and defeat. Such is their ego that even if everything gets burned to ashes, Modi can never be wrong. Because illiterate people are like that."
