Mumbai: Even as Article 370 has been scrapped in Jammu and Kashmir, actor Anupam Kher has said that 'Kashmir solution has begun'.
Tensions emerged in the state after authorities suspended Amarnath Yatra due to the security threats from terrorists backed by the Pakistan Army. Government advisory has also asked tourists and pilgrims to leave the valley.
Uncertainty loomed over as massive security force build-up in Kashmir.
Drawing references from the issue of genocide of Kashmiri pandits in 1990, the 64-year-old actor on Sunday tweeted: "Kashmir Solution has begun."
Kher who is also a Kashmiri pandit had earlier come out in public extending his support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on various occasions.
The actor had reportedly voiced his opinion against Article 370 demanding that special autonomous status awarded to the state must be abolished to resolve the concurring clashes.
Mobile services have been suspended, schools and colleges have been shut down in Jammu, Reasi, Doda, Kathua and Udhampur districts.
Section 144 of the IPC has been imposed in Jammu from 6 am on Monday. The same has already been imposed in Srinagar from midnight.
Following the intelligence inputs about the possible terrorist attacks, Governor Satyapal Malik has sought to dispel speculations.
