Amitabh Bachchan, who shared a close bond with the late actor Rishi Kapoor, got teary-eyed while paying an emotional tribute to his late co-star and friend during the I For India, a Facebook home-to-home fundraiser concert.

Mumbai: Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan has paid a tribute to his friend and departed colleague Rishi Kapoor during I For India concert.

Big B paid an emotional tribute to one of his frequent co-star and late actor Rishi during the I For India concert on Sunday which was telecasted live on Facebook.

In a five and half minute long video, Big B is seen trying to fight back tears that keep moistening his eyes throughout the video as he remembers his beloved Chintu.

The thespian began his tribute by recalling the day he saw a young Rishi for the first time at veteran filmmaker and superstar Raj Kapoor’s house. He also recalled how Rishi's walk resembled his grandfather Prithvi Raj Kapoor's determined and confident walk.

Sitting in his home, Big B went down the memory lane and undusted endearing moments he got to spend with Rishi which was sitting for years in his memory archive.

Big B, who worked with Rishi in films like Amar Akbar Anthony, Naseeb, Kabhi Kabhie and more recently in 102 Not Out revealed many lesser-known aspects of the late actor.

Talking about how perfect Rishi would lip-sync a song or the genuineness in his dialogue delivery to his ability to add comedic spark even in grave sequences, Bachchan heaped praise on Rishi with a lump in his throat.

While talking about the last phase of Rishi's life, Big B said the Bobby star never "lamented his condition."

"But I am certain .. when he went , he must have gone with a gentle smile,” said Big B as he heaved a great sigh before signing off.

Rishi Kapoor passed away on Thursday morning after a battle with cancer. The 67-year-old actor breathed his last at Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai.
