'Jhund' is reportedly based on the life of Vijay Barse, the founder of Slum Soccer a Nagpur-based organisation dedicated towards the upliftment of underprivileged children through football matches.
Big B will be playing the role of a professor who channelises the street children to build a soccer team.
The project was revived after producer Meenu Arora chanced upon the story and took it - first to Manjule and then to Bachchan.
'Jhund' is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Raaj Hiremath, Savita Raj Hiremath and Nagraj Manjule. It will also mark the Hindi directorial debut of 'Sairat' filmmaker, Manjule.
Apart from 'Jhund', Big B will be seen in Sujoy Ghosh's 'Badla', a remake of the 2016 Spanish thriller film 'Contratiempo'. The megastar will also feature in Karan Johar's fantasy trilogy 'Brahmastra'.
