Hyderabad: After cementing its position in the Indian smart TV market, Xiaomi's Mi brand is all set to enter the premium segment by launching a fully 'make in India' 55-inch QLED TV on December 16, a top company executive revealed on Monday.
Mi Smart TVs continue to be the best-selling devices for the nine consecutive quarters in India, with a 22 percent market share (Q2, 2020). The company recently said it has sold over 50 lakh Mi TVs since its inception in 2018.
"We have seen that the aspirations of the consumers are ever-changing. With the launch of the new QLED TV, we are focusing on the improvement of the momentum of this segment as well as increase its adaptation rate," Eshwar Nilakantan, Category Lead, Smart TV, Mi India.
"Mi QLED TV will combine great picture quality, incredible acoustic audio and a great lifestyle design. It will be a perfect amalgamation of technology and design, enhancing both the living space and entertainment experience for consumers," Nilakantan elaborated.
QLED TVs are at the forefront of emerging TV technology.
They make up a large portion of the premium TV segment and amplify the aspirations of the TV viewing public. The QLED market has seen merit in proposing a combination of lifestyle and functional merit.
"In 2018, we successfully launched smart TVs in India with Mi TV 4 which was the world's thinnest LED TV at 4.9mm. We have completed two years of our TV journey in India. Since Q2 2018, Mi India has remained the number one Smart TV brand in India,'' Nilakantan added.
Mi TVs are powered by Patchwall technology that is designed specifically for Indian consumers.

In the event today December 16, 2020, Mi QLED TV 4K was launched. Some of the Mi TV QLED TV 4K features:

Picture Quality of Mi QLED TV
Sudip Sahu, Product Manager Mi TV, Mi India explains the technology of Mi QLED TV. The QLED feature means Quantum Dot particles. This means that there are super tiny nanoparticles that absorb energy and generates red, green, and blue light. These colours generated from the nano Quantum dot particles are richer purer because they occupy a smaller wavelength compared to colours from a typical backlight system. This allows for better-saturated colours and a wider colour spectrum up to 100%NTSC colour gap. Regular TV's provide 72%NTSC.
- For a cinematic picture experience, the Mi QLED Tv comes with a propriety Vivid Picture Engine. This fine-tunes the panel to give you a picture quality that is absolutely new. With the vibrancy of the colours maintained in QLED TV, it gives clarity of the pictures.

Sudip Sahu says that they have built the best speaker system so far. This speaker is two times better than the speakers of normal LED TV. He further added that they are 233% better. The speaker cavity of this TV is 2.3 times more than the size of most of the TV. This additional acoustic vacuum ensures that this TV has a huge cavity of 1 liter. This is a huge space and this enables fuller sound output.
