WATCH: 'Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav': Thousands march from Ahmedabad to Dandi

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of India's independence in August, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched ''Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav'' and flagged off a padayatra (foot march) from Sabarmati Ashram in Gujarat. The Salt March, which was led by Mahatma Gandhi in 1930 to protest British rule in the country, was taken out from March to April. And to re-enact Mahatma Gandhi's Dandi Yatra, thousands of people marched from Ahmedabad and they will be joined by thousands of others as the padayatra will progress and culminate in Dandi.
