WATCH: Alleged gang-rape victim attempts self-immolation at Meerut

The Uttar Pradesh Police on Friday registered an FIR against a woman for allegedly attempting self-immolation outside the police commissioner's office in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut district. The woman has alleged non-action by police in a gang-rape case filed by her, before attempting self-immolation. The woman alleged that she was gang-raped by some miscreants a few months ago and one of her friends was allegedly shot dead by them. On Friday, she tried to set herself on fire outside the police commissioner's office in Meerut alleging the police did not take action on her complaint. Police personnel posted outside the CP's office stopped the self-immolation attempt.
