VIDEO: Old man saved by railway motorman at Kalyan station

Thane: An incident has come to light from Kalyan where the life of an old man who was crossing the railway line was saved by the motorman. The incident took place at Kalyan railway station around noon on Sunday. The old man, identified as Hariprasad Shankar Karan, a resident of Advali-Dhokari village in Kalyan East, was standing on a railway platform with the intention to commit suicide. Motorman S. K. Pradhan, who saw Hariprasad standing on the tracks tried to warn him off as the train approached, but despite several attempts, Hariprasad did not budge. Utilising his skill, Pradhan then tried to stop the train and only just managed to do so. The motorman and railway police later pulled the Hariprasad to safety.
