The assembly elections in the state are witnessing a high-profile contest between the TMC and BJP. While an intense battle has been witnessed between the TMC and the BJP, with both sides making scathing accusations against the other, former party leader Javed Ahmed Khan claimed that he has no opponent in his constituency to defeat. Speaking to media persons in this regard, Khan said, "I believe in serving the people and I will do my best this time also. But I could not see any perfect candidates who can contest against TMC." "I have won twice and I hope to win by a record margin for the third time," he added. The first three phases of the eight-phased West Bengal polls have already taken place. The fourth phase of the elections will be held on April 10. Counting of the votes will take place on May 2.
