🎬 Watch Now: Feature Video
Even as the Tamil Nadu's Thoothukudi witnessed heavy downpour on Monday, a policeman was out in strength on the roads, managing traffic, enforcing diversions and helping out those stranded. When the city was caught in the deluge, the first to respond to the crisis was the policeman, Muthuraj who performed a myriad of tasks -- from clearing traffic on inundated roads to rescuing people in distress and providing food to the needy. The policeman's act earned the praise of Thoothukudi District Superintendent of Police Jayakumar, who described him as his "hero" and "true star" of the team. The thunderstorm led to traffic jams at several places. However, the city police promptly pressed in their staff to clear trees and drain the rainwater. The cop was felicitated by the police department for his exemplary effort.
