Mangleshwar Bhairav: A momentous temple located in the old city of Srinagar

Srinagar: Mangleshwar Bhairav temple is located in the middle of the Baba Demb canal at the Khanyar area in old city Srinagar. The beautiful and attractive view of the temple is noticeably sighted from the adjacent Baba Demb road, along the shoreline of the canal. Mangleshwar temple is believed to be one of the oldest temples of the Valley. The holy place has always remained the epitome of communal brotherhood between the Muslims and Hindus of the city. Samajik Vikas Sanstha is a non-governmental organisation that oversees the temple. However, its maintenance, cleaning, and guarding jobs have been done by Muslim employees for decades.
