Locust attack: Teams of Agriculture Department carry out chemical spraying in Rajasthan

Jaipur: The teams of Agriculture Department of Rajasthan Government on Wednesday carried out chemical spraying in Phagi panchayat of the district to control the swarms of locusts. In June this year, the Department had said that locust attacks were controlled in 1,16,091 hectares at 383 places after surveying 14,80,858 hectares. The desert locust is a species of locust, a swarming short-horned grasshopper. They are known to devour everything in their path, posing an unprecedented threat to food supply and livelihoods of millions of people.
