Lockdown: Ahmedabad mall provides shelter to migrant workers

Amid the nationwide lockdown imposed to curb the cases of COVID-19 infection, people dwelling on footpaths found shelter in a shopping mall in Ahmedabad. ISKON mall and the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation have made arrangements for sheltering people stranded on streets due to the lockdown. Many of them are migrant labourers from outside the state. They are being provided with food and shelter inside the mall. At a time when thousands of daily wage labourers are migrating back to their native places, Ahmedabad administration has provided temporary shelter to them. Over 150 people have been accommodated in the mall.
