Kolkata: Covid victim's body kept at home for 15 hrs, kin alleges lack of govt help

The body of a 63-year-old man, who had tested positive for COVID-19 last week, was kept at home for nearly 15 hours. The wife of the deceased alleged that she sought help from the police and govt agencies for the body's disposal but no one turned up. Although the incident happened yesterday, it came to light on Sunday after the video went viral in the public domain. The deceased, a resident of Haldar Para under Shivpur police station limits, died on Saturday night. However, with the help of TMC MLA Arup Roy the body was taken by the health workers for the disposal.
