Gadchiroli encounter: C-60 commandos receive a scintillating welcome

After a successful encounter operation against banned outfits in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli, C-60 commandos were welcomed by officials at police district headquarters with the 'band baaja'. The skirmish took place at around 5.30 am on Friday in the forest at Kotmi in Etapalli, where the Naxals had gathered for a meeting. Based on specific inputs, the police party, comprising C-60 commandos, had launched a search operation in the forest. The encounter lasted around an hour, after which the remaining Naxals escaped into the dense forest.
