Bridge collapses in Melavanki village of Belagavi

Belagavi (Karnataka): A bridge collapsed in Melavanki village due to heavy rains in the district last night. As a result, Gokak-Lokapura road transport is disconnected. This bridge connects Gokak to Kaujalagi. Locals captured the collapse of the bridge on their mobile phones. Several villages in the area including Koujalagi, Kalarakoppa, Hadaginala, Udagatti, Sajjihala and Davaleshwara remains disconnected. The bridge was built 50 years ago by the Department of Public Works. No causalities were reported in the incident.
